LOUISE
TURNER
woven textile design
Creating a fabric from start to finish is something that I have a particular passion for; Being involved in the colour choices and inspration, the dying processes, and the construction itself.
This year, I have focused a lot of my work around different aspects of both animal and human skin, analysing genetics and patterning on the skin to influence my designs. However, I enjoy gaining inspiration from many areas, whether they be an everyday source, or perhaps something more unique.
Throughout my three years studying Textiles in Practise at Manchester School of Art, I have experimented with varying diciplines, however I have found that the precision involved when making a fabric has captivated me the most. I have gained invaluable skills across many areas during my time at this university, and hope to carry these on into a future career within the textile industry.
If you have any questions about my work, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
